St. Mary's Church Westport Failte! Welcome! Witam Serdecznie! Bienvenue! Wilkommen! Come in! The open arms of Mary invite you to enter this church. It is a place of prayer, of contemplation and beauty; a place of hope; rich in symbol. You will find yourself closer to God. For almost two hundred years, the celebration of Mass has taken place on this site. On entering the church, you will sense immediately that this is not a museum of the past but a living place of worship, providing a spiritual home for all who worship here. The present church was built in two stages - 1928 and 1958. It replaced and older, neo-Gothic style church, constructed in 1831, which had become too small for a growing congregation. The most recent renovations (2004), have enhanced the beauty of the church and have brought it into the twenty-first century.
