Fr. Gill is a native of the neighbouring parish of Louisburgh.  He studied for the priesthood in St. Patrick's College, Maynooth and was ordained there in 1952.  He has served in a number of parishes in the Archdiocese of Tuam - Headford, Mulranny, Milltown, and he also served on the teaching staff of St. Jarlath's College, Tuam. Fr. Paddy came to live and work in Lecanvey in 1998.
