Lent begins on Ash Wednesday March 5th

Lent is a 40-day period of reflection and preparation in the Christian calendar leading up to Easter. It emphasizes three key practices: Praying, which deepens one's relationship with God: Fasting, which encourages self-discipline and spiritual focus; and Giving, which fosters compassion and generosity towards others especially Towards The Annual Trocaire Lenten Appeal. Together, these practices help us grow in faith, hope and love. This prepares us for the Holy Week and Easter celebration of the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus.

SUNDAY MARCH 2ND DAY OF PRAYER FOR TEMPERANCE:

Dear God, Grant us strength and wisdom today as we seek temperance in all things. Help us to make good choices and live lives of moderation, fostering peace within ourselves and our communities. Guide our hearts and actions toward a life of balance and gratitude.

We make this prayer through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

A PRAYER FO POPE FRANCIS:

Heavenly Father, we pray for Pope Francis in his time of illness. Grant him strength, comfort, and healing. Surround him with Your love and peace. Guide the hands of those who nurse and care for him. May he feel the support of our prayers and the warmth of our hearts We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
