FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASS CERMONIES:

Kilmeena & Carrowholly Saturday 30th May at 1.00pm

HOLY COMMUNION FOR THE HOUSE BOUND:

If you would like to take Holy Communion home to a family member, neighbour or friend you can avail of a Pyx by calling in at the Sacristy or the Parish Office at the Presbytery, Westport. If anyone has finished using a Pyx please return it to the Sacristy or the Parish office. Thank you.

 

CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION:

Sunday 7th June is the Fest of Corpus Christi, weather permitting there will be a procession in Westport

After the 11.00am Mass. All the First Holy Communion classes in the area are invited to take part leading the Procession as part of their Grow in Love Mass. This year the procession will finish with Benediction at the McBride Community Nursing Unit, on the green at St. Mary’s Crescent.

 

PRAYER BEFORE EXAMS:

Loving God, be with me now as I prepare for my exams. Thank you for the many talents & gifts you have given me and for the opportunity of education. Calm my nerves & anxiety, help me to remember all that I have studied, to express it clearly and to answer the questions to the very best that I can. Holy Spirit, sit with me in my exam-and always. Amen.

HOLY TRINITY RESTORATION:

A fundraising concert to support ongoing essential restoration work at Holy Trinity Church

will take place at Holy Trinity Church, Westport on Wed. 27th May 8pm, featuring Louisburgh Voices and the ConTempo Quartet. The programme includes Vivaldi's Gloria in D and music by J.S. Bach. Tickets (€20) are available from the Clew Bay Hotel and Duffy's Bookshop, Westport and Gala, Louisburgh.

 

CHILDREN’S ROSARY:

10.30 before 11.00 am Mass on Sunday 14th June. All ages welcome. 

 

ST MARY’S CHURCH WESTORT:

A new sound system is being installed at the moment.

This involves upgrading the wiring, loop system and speakers in the Church.

WALKING WITH THE BEREAVED: 

A call to service “Each of us, by virtue of our Baptism, has been called to serve the Lord Jesus in some way or other” Archbishop Francis Duffy. Training in Funeral Ministry. A call to support, is an initiate of the Tuam Diocesan Funeral Resource Team. The Church recommends that when no Priest or Deacon is available for the removal from the Funeral Home or the home of the deceased and graveside prayers in the cemetery, then a lay person can preside. You are invited to nominate someone whom you believe fulfils the role. See the details on the information leaflet.

There will be a information evening at Westport Plaza Hotel on Tuesday 9th June at 7.00 p.m.

 

NEW BOXES OF ENVELOPES:

Are available for collection this weekend. You can call in after Mass or at the Parish Office during the week.

We would appreciate the help of our usual volunteers to distribute them, and the help of any new volunteers would be a great help too.

Saturday 6th June 2026 in Knock Shrine. Archbishop Eamon Martin reconsecrates Ireland to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Unmissable line-up of speakers who live and love the Rosary.
