CHILDRENS ROSARY:

Rosary at St. Mary’s Church, Westport Sun. 10th May at 10.30am before 11.00am Mass. Children and teens of all ages are welcome to come and learn to pray the Rosary. Children must be accompanied by parent/guardian.

 

CAMP VERITAS:

Clongowes Wood College, Clane, Co. Kildare. June 23rd – 28th Camp Veritas is a one week sleep away pilgrimage experience serving up to 200 young people ages of 12 and 17 years & supported by up to 100 volunteers. The recipe is 'play & pray', with a full immersion in the Catholic Faith through sacraments & fun activities. Bus collection points at Westport, Castlebar, Claremorris, Tuam and Athenry. WALKING WITH THE BEREAVED: 

A call to service “Each of us, by virtue of our Baptism, has been called to serve the Lord Jesus in some way or other” Archbishop Francis Duffy. Training in Funeral Ministry. A call to support, is an initiate of the Tuam Diocesan Funeral Resource Team. The Church recommends that when no Priest or Deacon is available for the removal from the Funeral Home or the home of the deceased and graveside prayers in the cemetery, then a lay person can preside. You are invited to nominate someone whom you believe fulfils the role. See the details on the information leaflet.

MISSION APPEAL:

Volunteers from the Vincentian Lay Missionaries will join us for Mass on 9/10th May. They wish to tell us about the work of the Vincentian Sisters and Fathers that they have worked with and continue to support. They will be appealing for your help with their African projects.

 

DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

Almighty God, on this Vocation Sunday, we lift up our hearts in gratitude for the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. Help us to listen for your call; to discern the path you set before us and to respond with courage, generosity and love. May You guide our minds, strengthen our hearts and inspire vocations to the work of service in our Church.  Grant us clarity in seeking your will, grace to do our best and unity to share Your Gospel. We entrust our future to your loving care, now and forever. Amen.

 

PREPARATION FOR PENTECOST: 

A stimulating presentation on film of the riches of the Catholic story with knowledge and in colourful presentation.  It is rooted in friendship with the story of Jesus Christ. This series continues after 10am Mass. in Carrowbeg House on Tuesdays April 28th, May 5th, 12th, 19th. DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS:

This weekend we welcome Wiktor Siemionkowski a clerical student for the ArchDiocese of Tuam and Killala. He will speak at Mass about the call to Vocations to the work of service in the church.
